RESUMO

Objectives To understand the distribution level and health risk of disinfection by-products of drinking water in cities of China, and to provide references for drinking water safety management. Methods By systematically searching the literatures published from 2009 to 2019, the effective data were extracted and the exposure levels of disinfection by-products of drinking water in China was statistically analyzed. The health risk assessment model recommended by EPA was used to conduct risk assessments on THMs and HAAs disinfection by-products. Results The levels of various disinfection by-products were as follows: trihalomethane > haloacetic acid > haloacetonitrile > chloral hydrate > haloketones > nitrosamines. The main disinfection by-products in drinking water in southern China were higher than those in northern China. The total amount of disinfection by-products produced by liquid chlorine disinfection was higher than other disinfection methods. Conclusion The carcinogenic risk of various disinfection by-products in domestic urban drinking water was higher than the acceptable EPA level (1×10-6 ). Sodium hypochlorite disinfection instead of liquid chlorine disinfection was able to effectively reduce the health risk of disinfection by-products to humans. The health risk of the exposure to pollutants in drinking water was higher in children than in adults, which should be taken into special consideration

RESUMO

BACKGROUND:Surgical accuracy is a key to surgical success. The traditional positioning method mainly depends on surgeons' experience, which is too subjective to cause screw misplacement.Three-dimensional (3D) printing technology-assisted pedicle screw placement can make individualized surgical scheme, most importantly,it is accurate and simple showing promising application prospect.OBJECTIVE:To design an individualized pedicle guide plate with 3D printing and to simulate screw placement in vitro, and to explore its feasibility in vertebral pedicle screw placement.METHODS:Lumbar spine CT data of 11 patients with degenerative lumbar spine were selected from April 2016 to July 2016 at Hebei General Hospital, and 3D reconstruction of L1,L3 and L5 vertebrae of each case was performed.Pre-experiment was conducted based on one patient's lumbar CT data:according to the principle of screw placement, the screw position and orientation were designed to prepare the best pedicle guide plate model.Afterwards, the screw placement in vitro was simulated, and was then cut by chainsaw to verify the accuracy of screw placement.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) A total of 30 pedicle guide plates were used, and 60 screws were inserted in the patients, and the placement process was successful. The guide plates adhered well, none appeared with screw perforating the pedicle cortex, and the screw position was accurate and reliable.(2) There were no significant changes in the transverse section and sagtial section angles of the left and right pedicle screws before and after placement (P > 0.05).(3) These results suggest that the 3D-printed individualized pedicle guide plate holds a good accuracy of placement, which can be applied in the vertebral pedicle screw placement, but further clinical trials are needed.

RESUMO

Objective To test the Footscan system for guiding the postoperative rehabilitation of calcaneus fractures. Methods Sixty patients with unilateral calcaneus fracture were divided randomly into a rehabilitation group and a control group.Patients in both groups began a routine of functional rehabilitation training 24 h after a reduction and fixation operation. The patients in the rehabilitation group received individualized rehabilitation protocols based on regular dynamic evaluation of their plantar pressure using the Footscan system. Those in the control group were administered routine rehabilitation training without the personal modifications. At the 2nd and 7th month postoperation, the dynamic plantar pressure of both groups was evaluated and the functioning of their feet Was scored. Results At the 2nd month post-operation,there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of subtalar ioint range of motion, the lateral deviation of pressure center, the time of heel touch with the ground, the maximum pressure at the lateral aspect of the calcaneus and impulsive force during walking. The functional evaluation scores were also not significantly different. At the 7th month post-operation,all the indices in both groups had improved significantly over the 2nd month, bulthe improvement in the rehabilitation group Was greater(except the time of heel touch with the ground). Conclusion The Footscan system can be a valuable tool for evaluating patients with calcaneus fracture and serve as a reference for planning rehabilitation interventions for such patients.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the effects of post-operation rehabilitation treatment of patients with calcaneus fracture by dynamic plantar pressure analysis, and assess the value of the Footscan system. Methods Sixty-two patients with unilateral calcaneus fracture were randomly divided into a rehabilitation group and a control group. The patients in the rehabilitation group were given early, systemic standard rehabilitation treatment, while those in the control group took functional exercise following the doctors'advice. At 3 months and 6 months after operation, the plantar pressure distribution of the patients in both groups was analyzed with the Footscan system, respectively. Results After 3 months of treatment.there was statistically significant difference between the injured and the uninjured sides in both groups, with regard to the contact time, average plantar pressure and pressure-time integrals at different phases of gait. However, there was no significant difference between the injured and the uninjured sides after 6 months in rehabilitation group. But in control group, there was still statistically significant difference between the two sides with regard to the above parameters. Conclusion Early rehabilitation treatment could significantly improve the function outcome of patients with calcaneus fracture.Footscan System can objectively evaluate the recovery of the calcaneous fracture.

RESUMO

Objective To observe the time course of the changes in nitric oxide (NO) content and the activity of NO synthase (NOS) during hippocampal long term potentiation (LTP) in vitro . Methods The production and maintenance of LTP were detected by using extracelluar electrophysiological recording. NO content and NOS activity were determined by biochemical reaction. The expression of NOS mRNA was detected by in situ hybridization. Results Conditioning stimulation for 10 min induced LTP production and significant increases in NO content, NOS activity and expression of NOS mRNA. However, at 60 min after conditioning stimulation, LTP remained stably but NO content and NOS activity returned to the pre conditioning stimulation level. Moreover, the NOS mRNA was overexpressed at the early stage of LTP production. Conclusion Significant NO changes may occur at the early stage of LTP formation.

RESUMO

Objective To explore a new surgical procedure of open reduction and internal fixation for intraarticular fractures of calcaneus and its clinic outcome. Methods Between August 2004 and August 2005, 54 feet in 44 patients with calcaneal fracture were treated in our department. Based on the results of X-ray and coronal CT scan before and after treatment, small incision (2-3 cm) at lateral sides of calcaneus, self-made calcaneal anatomical plate and stud bolt were used. According to Sanders classification system, there were 12 cases of type Ⅱ, 32 cases of type Ⅲand 10 cases of type Ⅳ. Results The internal fixation with the calcaneal anatomical plate almost restored the height, length, width, Blher's and Gissane's angles of the calcaneus for the 44 patients. No infection of incision happened. The results were evaluated using Maryland Foot Score. 54 fractures were followed up for 2 to 12 months (averaging 8.3 months) after treatment. Excellent results were noted in 26 fractures, good in 24,fair in 4, and the excellent and good rates were 92.6%. Conclusion The open-reduction and internal fixation with self-made calcaneal anatomical plate and stud bolt is one of the best ways for treatment of fracture of calcaneus.

RESUMO

AIM: To observe the effect of adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH) on the levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), trkB and corticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH) in the hippocampus of arthritic rats.METHODS: The BDNF immunoreactivity (IR) and CRH-positive neurons were stained with immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization methods, respectively.RESULTS: The BDNF-IR, CRH mRNA-positive neurons in the contralateral hippocampus of the arthritic rats were increased significantly, which was decreased markedly by intraperitoneal injection of ACTH. However, the effect of ACTH was attenuated after adrenalectomy (ADX).CONCLUSION: These results suggest that BDNF and CRH in the hippocampus of arthritic rats were involved in the modulation of chronic pain, ACTH produced its analgesic effect by inhibiting the increase in BDNF and CRF level. Adrenal is critical to the analgesic action of ACTH.

RESUMO

0.05). Spike of [Ca 2+ ]i of astrocytes was induced by acute morphine administration, but the spike of [Ca 2+ ]i of astrocytes pretreated with morphine could be induced only by higher concentration of morphine. The [Ca 2+ ]i response of astrocytes to morphine could be blocked by naloxone but not by MK 801(NMDA receptor antagonist). Conclusion The response of [Ca 2+ ]i in morphine induced astrocytes may play an important role in morphine tolerance.
